Ground Gas Monitoring Assessment
If the Phase I Desk Study identifies a potential risk of ground gases that could affect the proposed development site, then a suitable ground gas monitoring assessment will be required. This involves the installation of a gas monitoring standpipe within a minimum of three boreholes, followed up by a number of gas monitoring visits, whereby levels of gas are monitored on different occasions. This will then allow for a detailed assessment of the gas regime on the site, and allow us to know if ground gases pose a risk to the proposed development or not.

Ground Gas Monitoring is carried out after the Phase II Intrusive Investigation works have been completed, upon installation of the appropriate gas monitoring standpipe into the boreholes.
