Soakaway Testing
Soakaway testing is carried out when local authorities request a drainage assessment for a site, in order to establish a sustainable drainage solution for any proposed development.
We carry out soakaway testing in accordance with BRE Digest 365, whereby a trial pit is excavated and then filled with water from a bowser or tanker. The rate of infiltration is then calculated by measuring the rate at which the water level falls over a set period of time.

This rate of infiltration can then be used to determine whether soakaway drainage is a suitable option for the site. If it is found to be suitable, then these figures will be used by drainage engineers to design the soakaway drainage system.
